History 1952 - 2025
A. J. Kerr Sr. (Art) founded Kerr Engineered Sales Company in 1952 after a twenty eight year career in sales and marketing to the oil, gas and water industries. He served as Vice President of Sales for Rockwell Manufacturing Company. He uncovered a need for technical sales and solutions for manufacturers expanding to the northeast. Art and his son Jack (A.J. Kerr, Jr.) formed the company to meet this need initially for two manufacturers, T. D. Williamson, Inc. and Peerless Mfg. Co. who continue to partner with Kerr today. David and Thomas Kerr have been running the company since 1997. Together with the team of application specialists and inside sales, they continue the tradition of high touch service and technical expertise while adapting to the constant changes in the industries.

DAVID B. KERR, PRESIDENT
David joined Kerr in 1987 after graduating from Penn State University. He started as a Sales Representative and became President/CEO of KERR in 1997. David is a past Chairman of the Eastern Gas Compression Roundtable. He maintains memberships with Ohio Gas Association, The Energy Association of Pennsylvania, and the Guild of Ancient Supplers. David leads operations, principal relationships, training and customers in PA and Ohio.
THOMAS W. KERR, VP SALES AND MARKETING
Thomas joined Kerr as a sales representative in 1994 after working in a public accounting firm and graduating from Penn State University. Since 1997, he has served as Vice President. Thomas is a member of the Society of Gas Operators and a committee member of the Appalachian Gas Measurement Short Course. He leads sales and marketing activities in the Northeast, and works closely with KERR principals to introduce new products and opportunities.
A. J. KERR, JR. (JACK), CHAIRMAN
After receiving a degree in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University, Jack received his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. He has served Kerr since 1952 in roles including Sales Engineer, Vice President, President (1968-1989), and President/ Chairman (1989-1997). Since 1997 he has served as Chairman/Chief Executive. Jack is a founding committee member of the Eastern Gas Compression Roundtable (Chairman 1989) and the Family Firm Institute, Pittsburgh. He is an avid supporter of arts and culture and has served on the boards of the Pittsburgh Opera and the Mendelssohn Choir for many years.

DARYL M. SMITH, SR. APPLICATION SPECIALIST
Daryl joined Kerr in 1999 and has excelled and grown with the company. He is a senior application specialist covering the territories of West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, DC area. Prior to joining Kerr, Daryl was a business owner in an independent printing company. Daryl lives in Maryland.
RONALD T. COMER, SR. APPLICATION SPECIALIST
Ron joined Kerr in 2006 and provides senior product and service solutions along with technical support to customers within the Mid-Atlantic region. Ron’s professional background includes sales and marketing in Software, Retail Technology and HVAC industries with a focus on National/Key Account Management, Business Alliance Development, Product Development/Market Positioning, and New Markets. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Minnesota State University. Ron resides in New Jersey.
NIGEL BELSHAW, APPLICATION SPECIALIST
Nigel joined Kerr in 2016. He is a pigging and closure specialist and a strong customer advocate. Nigel’s experience spans a career of 27 years in the British Army in multiple roles and countries. Nigel served as the Assistant Defense Advisor at the British High Commission in Kenya. He was formerly General Manager of a high risk security firm and an aviation company in Nairobi, Kenya. HIs education includes a Master of Science in Leadership and Management (MSC) at Portsmouth University and Finance and Management at London South Bank University. He is an avid outdoorsman and fly fisherman.
NATALIE CARRICK, INSIDE SALES COORDINATOR
Natalie joined Kerr in 2021. She works closely with customers, principals and the sales team to ensure smooth operations and follow up. As a direct contact and problem solver, she helps maintains exceptional relationships and service. Natalie organizes KERR event management and supports marketing efforts. She has a degree in Communications from Slippery Rock University.
SHARON MURPHY, OFFICE MANAGER
Sharon joined Kerr in 1989. Sharon manages customer orders and is the primary inside office support for Kerr. She loves helping customers and meeting new people. She has a full house with dogs, her sons and other pets.
CODY SMITH, APPLICATION SPECIALIST
Cody joined Kerr in 2023. His role includes inside and outside sales. He has a Degree in business administration and attended Marshall University and Purdue Global. Cody is an avid golfer and gets outdoors to fish and hike as much as possible. His experience includes landscaping management
KEVIN W KERR, ASSOCIATE APPLICATION SPECIALIST
Kevin joined Kerr in 2025 to support the outside sales team. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Resource Management and a certificate in GIS/Cartography. Previously, he worked for the Pennsylvania trail mapping project for the PA Environmental Council in State College. He is an avid biker, traveler and enjoys fishing and the outdoors
GRACE KERR, ASSOCIATE APPLICATION SPECIALIST
Grace joined Kerr in 2025 to support the outside sales team. She graduated from American University in 2021 with a degree in Finance. Before relocating to Pittsburgh, she worked in software sales in Austin, Texas. Grace enjoys spending time with her cat Lola, and being outdoors to hike, ski and travel
